Having passed tiresome 2019, another new year, 2020 begins up to rejuvenate the inner you. What are you planning for this great day? Party? Obviously. What about visiting places?  That's definite. Hanging out with friends? No exception. Even more, many of you must be confused and tired of visiting the same place over again in your town. Well, here are a few new years’ places to go and things to do in 2020!

1. Hometown (Village)
Ever thought of visiting your hometown during the new year? I bet, you never did. Possibly a few of you must have. All in all, you would prefer urban communities; late-night parties, hangout among friends and drink. Only to find yourself waking up from friend's home, the next day. Waking up in someone else home isn't a great way to start a new year now. Is it? You get wasted and have a hangover you can't handle. Dang!!  The new year is over. Common! Why not hometown? Like said, home is where your heart belongs. It sounds cliche but that's where the toughest questions of your life are answered. Family, relatives and neighbourhoods -  the place and people you will fall in love with time and again. For a long time even in their absence. Why not celebrate this day with people who have been there for you since your diaper days? Also, your nose needs to smell the fresh grass and your eyes deserve to see all the beauty of a village!

2. Nearby religious sites
It is very much certain that no one ever could have stuck in their mind this way. Yes, of visiting nearby religious sites. For the life you have lived, the troubles that you have endured, the luck that favoured your goings, and for the fact that you are sound and happy for the new year. Ever gave a thought on thanking god on this particular day? I suppose, only in times of woes and sufferings. Nothing else matters but knowing the contradictions. Well, this new year, why not visit religious sites, temples, monasteries, and offer prayers to god and circumambulate them. The pushes and pumps the god favoured in your interest is something you should not leave unattended. For peace and prosperity is what you will need all this life. It won't take some of your time to thank god for keeping you alive this year and pray for a better year ahead. You are allowed to pray or visit temples even when you are not sick or in trouble.

3. Excursions or Visit Parks
On this very day, you wouldn't like wasting any more of your time gripping about visiting places that would disgust and make you regret the following days. But the people around you that matters. Surround yourself among them, friends, family and co-workers. Too short your hours may seem if you push up yourself among good people. There are lots of exciting and stunning places you can visit. Hike to Phobjikha, Taktshang, Dodeydra, Phajoding and Zomlingthang in the west to Manas National Park, Gomphukora, Talkila in the central and eastern districts. Remember, from the places you travel these far, you will discover the joy of unison. See something new, learn something you never knew about and most importantly start your year by being the new you.

Note: While these three destinations are suggested, it doesn't discourage you from visiting nearby places like restaurants, party halls and other recreational centres in Bhutan.
