Yeshi Dorji is an educator, researcher, and advocate of Gross National Happiness (GNH) based at Gelephu Middle Secondary School under Bhutan’s Ministry of Education and Skills Development. With more than 15 years of experience in Bhutan’s education sector, he is committed to promoting holistic learning, mindfulness, global citizenship, and values-based education.
His work spans curriculum development, educational research, teacher professional development, and international educational initiatives. He has represented Bhutan at regional and global forums on topics including Global Citizenship Education, Education for Sustainable Development, and learner-centred pedagogies within the GNH framework. His contributions have been recognised through several honours, including the UNESCO Bangkok Asia-Pacific Heritage Grant Award, the APCIEU-UNESCO Education for International Understanding Best Practice Award, and a Meritorious Promotion from the Royal Civil Service Commission of Bhutan.
