Where to Eat in Punakha: The Most Popular Restaurants and Local Eateries You Must Try

Punakha was the capital of Bhutan and the seat of government until 1955, when the capital shifted to Thimphu. It is located about 72 km from the capital , about a two hour drive. This town offers many attractions, including the grand Punakha Dzong, Bhutan’s longest suspension bridge, the famous Chimi Lhakhang (often called the Fertility Temple), and lush green rice fields, especially during the summer. Besides being one of the best places to visit, Punakha also offers a variety of great dining options for visitors.
