With influences from various regions of the country, along with neighbors such as Tibet, Nepal and India- you will find that restaurants in the capital city have a lot more to offer than you might expect.

Here is a list of local-approved restaurants with a blend of higher-end establishments, traditional cuisine, Bhutanese fast food and more!

For something heartier, try their ting momo and beef shapta (Tibetan steamed bread with stir fry beef) or bathtub (hand pulled noodle soup).
