Amotti shares a warm, funny and deeply human moment from his visit to Bhutan with Choo Sung Hoon (Yoshihiro Akiyama).

From Physical 100 to Bhutan: When Amotti and Sung Hoon Met His Majesty

A light-hearted story from Bhutan has taken social media by storm and has delighted audiences across Asia, offering a rare and endearing glimpse into the warmth and humour of His Majesty King Jigme. Kim Jae-hong, better known to fans as Amotti from Netflix’s Physical 100 Season 2, shared a memorable moment from his Bhutan visit, recounting a light-hearted interaction during a dinner with His Majesty King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck.

A Playful Moment at the Dinner Table

Speaking openly on the show, Amotti shared that during the dinner, His Majesty learned that he was a contestant from Physical 100 and, playfully asked him to take off his shirt. The unexpected request sparked laughter and instantly set a relaxed tone, with Amotti describing it as a fun and unforgettable interaction. He shared that the King genuinely enjoyed the moment.

Who Is Amotti?

Amotti, whose real name is Kim Jae-hong, is a South Korean fitness trainer and television personality who rose to international fame through winning Physical 100 Season 2 and most recently, Physical Asia. Known for his discipline and athleticism, his appearance on the show earned him a strong following across Asia.

Visit to Bhutan in October 2025

He visited Bhutan with Choo Sung-hoon, also known as Yoshihiro Akiyama, a renowned Korean-Japanese mixed martial artist, professional wrestler and television personality who also contested in Physical 100. During their visit, both had the honour of being granted an audience with His Majesty King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck.

In a photo shared by Yoshihiro Akiyama from their October 2025 visit, Amotti and Akiyama were seen looking charming in Bhutan’s national attire, the gho, as they stood alongside His Majesty King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck

An Evening of Meaningful Conversations

Following the visit, Yoshihiro Akiyama took to Instagram to reflect on the extraordinary experience, sharing his deep admiration for the King and the time they spent together.

He wrote, “I was fortunate enough to have dinner with the King of Bhutan. We spent about three hours together, sharing many conversations. Before anything else, I have to say, as a man, I genuinely thought His Majesty’s presence and dignity were truly impressive. Among the many meaningful stories he shared, what struck me most was when he mentioned how much he loves golf — that really made me happy.”

Gratitude, Admiration and a Promise to Return

Akiyama’s message continued with heartfelt gratitude and a promise to return, capturing the emotional weight of the encounter. He wrote, “Thank you for the wonderful time. I promise that I will surely come again to see His Majesty the King of Bhutan. Long live the King of Bhutan! I am truly grateful for such an extraordinary time.”

While little else is known about what Amotti and Sung Hoon got up to during their time in Bhutan, one can’t help but wonder about the important things like whether they fell in love with ema datshi. Did the chilli-and-cheese national dish win them over, or did it quietly test even their Physical 100 toughness? Until they say otherwise, we’ll just assume they survived the heat, asked for seconds, and left Bhutan with both warm memories and slightly tingling taste buds.

Over the years, Bhutan has quietly emerged as a destination that draws people well beyond the usual travel circuit, welcoming a growing number of well-known personalities. In November 2025, Hong Kong personalities Lau Kar Ying and Liza Wong took their long overdue wedding photos in Bhutan.

These visits, often shared subtly rather than staged for attention, highlight Bhutan’s growing reputation as a destination that resonates with those seeking meaning, reflection and genuine connection.
