Singye Agencies launch new Mahindra vehicles

Adding one more feather on their hats, Mahindra and Mahindra Limited and Singye Agencies launched new brands of trucks, buses and earthmovers in Thimphu.

Adding one more feather on their hats, Mahindra and Mahindra Limited and Singye Agencies launched new brands of trucks, buses and earthmovers on Friday in Thimphu.

According to the officials from Zimdra Automobiles, the sister company of Singye Agencies, the newly launched vehicles are strong, fuel efficient and particularly favourable for the road in Bhutan.

“It is also cheaper and bigger. The qualities of these lorries are superior to that of the existing ones,” said the official.

Reminiscing her old days, the chief guest at the launch, the minister for works and human settlements, Dorji Choden, said Mahindra vehicles have long been connected to history of Bhutan.

“When the first national highway between Phuentsholing to Thimphu was opened, it was a Mahindra truck that plied on this road. Thus, the relation between Bhutan and Mahindra vehicles dates back to early 1960s,” said the minister.

“When I was studying in far eastern places, we used to take rides on jeeps which were Mahindra vehicles,” she recalled.

She mentioned that it is indeed good news to the people of Bhutan that Singye Agencies and Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd are bringing in a few more lorries and earthmovers which are user friendly and cheaper.

“My ministry is the one which will be relying more of these transport and construction machines,” said Lyonpo Dorji Choden.

The Chairman of Singye Agencies, Ugen Tshechu, said that it is another milestone to their business.

“This launch is also to mark our 20 years of business tie with Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd,” he said.

Meanwhile, orders for these new lorries and earthmovers are flooding in. Singye Agencies also offered 50 percent insurance payment for those who booked the vehicles at the time of launch
