Here’s What it is like inside Hotel River Valley, Punakha in Bhutan

River Valley Hotel is an intimate 42 room hotel featuring the most exclusive rooms with a view with an enviable location in Punakha. The hotel is located 3 minutes away from Khuruthang town and 4.5 km away from the magnificent fortress, Punakha Dzong. This puts you within striking distance of the country’s great cultural landmark in Bhutan.

The best thing about Hotel River Valley is the surreal view of khuruthang valley, Puna Tsang Chhu and the majestic mountains. The location of the hotel has served us an advantage over other hotels and resorts in Punakha.  Our property is one of the best when compared with other properties around. We offer luxury travel experiences that truly immerse guests in the elusive essence of Bhutan, its culture, landscape and religion.

COURTYARD

One of the best features and the guest favourite avenue in the hotel is the courtyard. From the bird's eye view, the courtyard looks like a massive LV bag spread on the floor. With the gazebo at the patio and eatery set, the guest can choose either to dine /lunch inside the restaurant or binge on the scrumptious meal with the stunning river view under the nose & romanced with the vicinity.

River Valley Hotel courtyard is the perfect wedding reception. If you would like to plan a wedding reception party at our hotel booking should be done.

During the cold season, they set bonfire stoves in the courtyard for our guests. Barbecue dinner with bonfire is hit amongst locals’ guests during auspicious /festive celebration. During the past few months, the vicinity has proven a great spot for local guests and tourists to network with each other. Thus we keep our fireplace warmer and closer for people to connect away from home.

RESTAURANT/BAR

Our Chef creates special and exquisite cuisine, both Western and Asian influenced, and will make your evening one to remember. We also offer a typical Bhutanese themed- dinner to elevate our dining experience. If the guest wishes to use our kitchen for their own choice of food, we allow you to enter our kitchen with certain norms.

CAFE DZ

Hotel River Valley also offers owns a café right at the corner of the popular courtyard. The owners of the hotel decided to operate in 2020 as the new year gift to the property. Ever since the café has attributed to more inflow of guests at the hotel.

One could enjoy a cup of coffee and luscious pastries from our café overlooking the khuruthang valley. As complimentary we also access our guests to free Wifi service.

GYM

The hotel gym has hit its stride in recent years. Gone are the days where you’d trek down to some windowless closet with a set of mismatched dumbbells and a treadmill that has seen better days. Today’s healthy-minded travellers demand a quality fitness experience, and smart hotels are finally delivering state-of-the-art cardio equipment, boutique-style workout classes, personal training sessions and amenities galore. With hotel gyms like these, you have no more excuses to ditch your workout on a trip.

Walk, run, stretch and maintain an active lifestyle during your stay. The fitness centre at our hotel has state-of-the-art equipment and facilities, to make sure you will be able to enjoy a total body workout that will energise and recharge your spirit. If you are lucky, you will be trained by the personal trainer who is supposedly Mr Bhutan. Mr Wangchen. He also works out at the same gym.

The location of the hotel is easily accessible from the places of interest in Punakha.
